WHY GRID BOOK AUDITION CAMP?

We know what it's like going to an audition. You're nervous, you don't know what to expect, and sometimes you leave feeling like you could have done better. As performers who have been through numerous auditions, and instructors who have held auditions at the highest levels of the activity, we know what the staff is looking for in a percussion auditionee.

Here’s a peek at what you can expect from a Grid Book Audition Prep Camp.

Get Feedback Before You Go

This is a mock audition. We will put you in exact scenarios you find at the top levels of DCI and WGI auditions.

Audition Prep Packet

You will receive a 2019 Grid Book Audition Packet including our "Audition Prep Checklist", exercises, and mindset notes to help you have an edge at auditions.

Intimate Class Sizes

Our Camps have been designed to provide a very personalized experience. Class sizes are limited to 10 members to provide a lot of individual time and Q&A Sessions.

World-Class Staff

The Grid Book Staff is best described as phenomenal. Mark Perrett and John Lluvera are outstanding educators who truly care about the individual experience of each camper. With over 15 years educating in the field of percussion and a track record of producing students who perform at the highest levels in the activity, you are in good hands.

Facilities

The Grid Book Percussion Studio is a well-equipped facility which offers campers the opportunity to play in a large drumline. Our building offers a practice room dedicated to marching percussion with a lounge, bathroom, and refrigerator for students who bring their own meal. For campers over 18, there are a variety of food and beverage locations within walking distance of the studio.

Play On Live Drums

Get the experience of what it feels like to play in a drumline with live drums! Our facility is equipped with marching drums that feel great to play on and are tuned to perfection.

Our Philosophy

At Grid Book we are committed to the growth and development of our campers, and believe that camp is the best place for this to occur. Our mission is to provide memorable experiences in an inclusive community that fosters personal, social, and emotional growth. We are convinced of the power of camp to transform lives and have set specific goals so that we may achieve our mission.

WHAT YOU GET

1 Day Of World-Class Instruction

This will give you the chance to attend a mock audition and get individual feedback from world class instructors. Our goal is to give you a live audition experience so you feel more confident going into your audition this fall. Get ready for a full day of drumming, learning, breaking boundaries, and growing towards your goals.

World-Class Curriculum For Rudimental Drumming

Our camp helps give you the step-by-step process used in real auditions across the world. You will learn everything from what to play to how to think during an audition.

2019 Grid Book Audition Packet

Drumline auditions usually have an "Audition Packet" or some type of music you need to prepare before coming to camp. But this usually doesn't include the stuff you're EXPECTED to know as a drumline performer. A lot of times performers are cut at auditions due to a lack of fundamental knowledge and awareness. This packet includes the things you will be expected to know going into a world-class drumline audition.

All campers will receive a Grid Book Audition Packet (digital download) prior to camp with everything we go over during the camp. Have this document printed out and organized neatly into a 3-Ring Binder with plastic sheets.

Photo Access

We take many photos and videos for you to collect, share, and preserve the awesome memories from camp. All photos are professionally edited and shared online for campers to download for personal use.
