"Doing your homework" means finding things out on your own. Take the extra steps to learn about your craft and basically just be "In The Know". This is a great motto to live by as it promotes learning as much as you can on your own before doing something. If you show up to an audition without "doing your homework", you might not be very prepared to compete with the rest of the performers.⠀

Look at the packet, read about what is required, ask veterans about how they prepared in previous years, watch youtube videos, DO ANYTHING you can do to know as much as possible before getting into the task at hand. Living this way with everything you do will not just keep you prepared for anything, but will put in a leadership position right away as this is the habits of great role models.⠀
