There are a lot of people out there doing the bare minimum required from their staff. If you show up knowing your music, great job, but there is so much more to being great than simply knowing what you're supposed to do.
Every time you show up to practice you should be bringing something to the table! Everyone should be able to noticeably see your improvement from the practice time you have been putting in. If you have to be told to fix something multiple times YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.
Great ensembles are made up of people who constantly try to better themselves. If the only time you are practicing is at practice, you are not going to reach your full potential.
Performing is fun, but being great at what you do is WAY MORE FUN! If you know that there is more you could be doing to be your best self, it's time to step your game up.
