DON’T GET DISCOURAGED
GET HELP

It doesn't matter who you are, you can't be good at EVERYTHING. Sometimes we feel like doing things on our own is the only way to do something, but getting help with things you're struggling with is crucial to growth in this craft.
The marching arts, for example, is a community activity and when you are having trouble with something, (whether that is performance based, or something social like problems with other people in your section) getting an outside perspective can really help you make moves in the right direction.
Don't let your ego or pride get in the way of personal or professional growth. And this extends past your music, this can apply to anything you're having trouble with.
Maybe you have trouble in math? Find someone in your ensemble that is great at math and ask for help. We are one big team, full of people with all sorts of talents, and humbling yourself enough to ask for help can be the difference in your entire season someday.
