TAKE EVERYONE ELSE OUT OF YOUR VOCABULARY
Everyone else.
Everyone else.
Everyone else.
Everyone else. ⠀
Everyone else.
Everyone else.
Everyone else. ⠀
⠀
If you say it enough it starts to sound ridiculous, but we often make decisions based on what "Everyone Else" is doing, or what "Everyone Else" thinks of us. This is not always a bad thing. You can, and should, be mindful of others and care for people other than yourself. But it is also important to do things for yourself and not allow other peoples opinions and perspectives to govern your own. ⠀
⠀
🗣 I was going to march Drum Corps, but everyone else said it was too expensive. ⠀
🗣 I would love to major in music, but everyone else said I won't make enough money. 🗣 I was going to try out for Drumline, but everyone else said I will get cut. ⠀
⠀
Whatever the excuse, if you want to do something do it because YOU want to do it. EVEN IF what people are saying is true (because Drum Corps IS expensive, and music teachers don't make a bunch of money, and yes you probably will get cut the first time) if you want something bad enough and are willing to work for it, you can make things happen that everyone else said would never happen, AND you might be doing something for a reason the other person NEVER EVEN THOUGH ABOUT. ⠀
⠀
So do what you love, fight for what you believe in, and don't let "Everyone Else" bring you down. You got this.
